Of course! Anything and everything Whishaw related is always welcomed here. x
Firstly, how lovely of you. I’m sure the sentiments will flatter him greatly. He seems to really enjoy receiving gifts from his fans and I would too (if it were me). Well done.
Secondly, I called the theatre indirectly at this local number (provided by Google) (212) 760-8361 / 219 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036. NOTE: If you are calling from outside of the US, standard messaging and calls will apply (less of course, you’re using a free mobile app designed to help with long distance calls at no charge. I personally live in the United States and this was not an inconvenience to me but don’t let that keep you from executing your brilliant idea!)
Thirdly, the number provided via Google will try and redirect you to ticketmaster BUT if you hold through the waiting process, a representative will assist you when able. I waited on the line. The kind woman explained the process to me as follows:
The Walter Kerr Theatre is evidently not directly reached through the (only known) internet provided number and the caller will be encouraged to handle arrangements through Ticketmaster as mentioned above. When using the Google issued number, keep in mind that it is simply a line medium to access information on all other current productions. It is not specifically used for information / tickets for only ‘The Crucible’ and or a source for directly reaching the actual theatre for any questions you may have.
Yes. Fans can send flowers/gifts to Ben or any of the other actors without being present.
- You must note to your florist that the address needs to specifically read “stage door” as well as to whomever it is to be given too! (ALWAYS BE SPECIFIC)! In your case, it needs to have two very distinct things noted besides the obvious addressing:
“For Stage Door”
“To Actor Ben Whishaw”
(And all other notes / personal messages you may need or feel necessary with your gift(s)!)
- Then of course, according to the representative, the stage door usher will give your sentiments to the manager and they will handle the delivery once received and promptly give them to Ben when able or any of the other actors for that matter. A time frame was not provided to me on this action.
She mentioned however, that you can (obviously) hand the sentiments to the actor(s) yourself if you are lucky enough to visit the theatre/show throughout it’s run and after every show there is always a chance to meet the actors and do just that. NOTE: Like any production, some days some actors if not all, do not and will not sign or come out through the stage door for a multitude of reasons and that be the case, do not feel discouraged, this is still a viable option.
- Lastly, conclusively, and most importantly, you should be able to confidently send love directly or personally at / to the theatre in which it will be delivered/received accordingly and flattering no less, either way!
I hope this helped darling. If you have anymore questions, do feel free to let me know and I will do my best (within reason) to grant an answer! <3 P.S. I have NO problem making calls. x
