a-forger-and-a-point-man:

i had the strangest dream last night about going to see the crucible

it was so vivid, it took me a long time to shake off the whole thing after i opened my eyes

but basically i was sitting like 10 rows back on the right side and when the show started the lights didn’t go down

someone from the backstage crew came out on stage and said he needed a volunteer because they were going to auction off a poster (???) and he pointed directly at me and was like YOU, COME UP

and i remember thinking i’m so glad i dressed nice, even though i don’t remember what i was wearing at all

so i stood there on stage with both hands holding up the poster while someone started taking bids

and then the dream cut to the actual performance but the lights hadn’t gone down, and all of act one went by without ben whishaw showing up (???)

during intermission i stepped outside and felt someone brush past me running really fast down the street, and then all i see is mark bradshaw running in hot pursuit

mark quickly returns huffing and puffing with ben thrown over his shoulder and i hear him say something like “not this time you’re not” and they go back through the stage door LOL

ben had his 2010 pride haircut, clean shaven, and was wearing a navy blue short sleeve button-up with white polka dots… it’s so weird that of all the details, this really stayed with me

so act 2 starts and sure enough ben is there and he’s in that costume we see him in in the curtain call pics… but he still looks like pride!ben

and again, the lights don’t go down, and there’s a technical problem so they pause the show

and ben just sits on the edge of the stage, legs hanging over, and he looks lonely like nobody is talking to him (???) so i go over and sit next to him and i’m like “hey how are you?” and then we end up having a really long conversation and he’s surprisingly chatty but i don’t remember anything we talked about!!!

when the show ends, it turns out that if you’re sitting in the front row, you can shake hands with all the cast at curtain call LOL so all i see is these older people, all white-haired in the front row, shaking hands with the cast

and poof, i opened my eyes

so bizarre LOL
