it’s going to be hard to discuss anything to do with the actual plot of the play because it hit too close to home for people i love, so that’s why i’ll do it in private. ivo’s execution was spectacular and deeply moving and there is no greater proof than my boyfriend sitting there in tears. i haven’t seen him cry in maybe five years? he squeezed my hand so hard i thought i was going to lose my fingers.

i won’t be able to watch ben make small appearances in films anymore where he is underused, much as he was during the fall of 2015. i have never seen anything like the performance i just saw, and i grew up around the theater and so did my parents, so we’re a seasoned audience. making people gasp like that is so rare.
